External trade January-March 2004
Balance of trade
The value of exported goods from Iceland amounted to ISK 50,900 million fobs and the value of imported goods was for the same amount January-March 2004. Thus the balance of trade was even as compared with a trade surplus of 6,400 million in January-March 2003, at fixed rates of exchange¹.
Exports
The total value of exports of goods January-March 2004 was 2,000 million or 4% higher at constant rates of exchange than the same period the year before.
Imports
The total value of imports of goods January-March 2004 showed an increase of 8,400 million or 20% higher than in the same period last year, at fixed rates of exchange.
