Imported raw material for fish processing 2006

Statistics Iceland has released a new issue of Statistical Series in the topical category of fisheries. This issue presents imported raw material for fish processing.

The total amount of imported raw material for fish processing in the year 2006 was 125,645  tonnes, a decrease of 60,498 tonnes or 32,5% from the year 2005. The value of this import was 5.2 billion ISK which is 100 million ISK higher than last year. Import of cod, capelin, blue whiting and shrimp decreased but import of Norwegian spring-spawning herring as a raw material increased between 2005 and 2006.
