Advertisement revenue of the media, sponsoring included, totalled 9,846 ISK million in 2008. From the previous year advertisement revenue of the media in current prices dropped by five per cent. In fixed (2008) prices, the downward trend amounted to 15 per cent.
Of those media where information is available, newspapers’ (dailies and non-dailies) share of the advertisement revenue in the last year was 58 per cent, while television retained a 26 per cent share, radio 14 per cent and cinemas and videos (DVD+VHS) less than two per cent. Distribution of the advertisement revenue pool has been relatively stable for some years.
