Wage index 2011

According to the wage index, wages increased by 6.7% between the years 2010 and 2011. During the same period wages in the private sector increased by 7.6% and in public sector by 4.4%.

In the private sector the change in wages ranged from 6.2% for Craft workers to 8.9% for Professionals. In the economic activity of Financial intermediation the wages rose by 10.0% while the increase of wages was 4.7% in the economic activity of Construction.

These results and more are published in a new Statistical Series, Wage Index 2011. The wage index is a quarterly index and shows the changes of regular hourly wages in the private sector by occupational group and economic activity. An aggregate index is also published for the public sector.
