Fish catches in December 2012
Total catch of Icelandic vessels in December 2012 was 42,833 tonnes compared with 41,688 tonnes in December 2011. Demersal species accounted for 30,800 tonnes, thereof cod 16,400 tonnes, haddock 2,800 tonnes, redfish 4,800 tonnes and saithe 3,200 tonnes. The pelagic catch was 9,700 tonnes.
At constant prices the volume of the catch decreased by 2.8% in December 2012 compared with December 2011.
