Overnight stays in hotels increased by 35% in February

In February 2013, overnight stays in hotels were 139,900 compared to 103,200 in February 2012.
Nights spent by foreign tourists accounted for 82% of the total number of overnight stays in February and increased by 42% compared with February 2012. At the same time the overnight stays of Icelanders increased by 11%.
The data above only show overnight stays in hotels that are operating for the whole year. Guesthouses and summer hotels are not included in this category.
