Consumer price index in May 2004

The CPI compiled in May 2004 is 233.9 points (May 1988=100), 0.82 per cent higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 227.4, 0.66 per cent higher than in April.

Housing prices rose by 2.3 per cent (effect on the CPI 0.28 per cent) and prices of petrol and gasoline rose by 3.3 per cent (0.13). Prices of food and beverages rose by 0.8 per cent (0.11) and subscriptions for TV and radio-licenses and newspapers rose by 5.2 per cent (0.09).

The CPI in May 2004 is 3.2 per cent higher than in May 2003 and the CPI less housing cost is 2.2 per cent higher. The CPI rose by 2.0 per cent over the last three months equivalent to an annual inflation of 8.1 per cent (CPI less housing cost 7.2 per cent). 

The credit term index in June 2004 is 233.9 points. The old credit term index is 4.618 points in June 2004.
