Total output of agriculture 51.8 billion ISK in 2011

The total output of agriculture is estimated at ISK 51.8 billion in 2011 and increased by 10.2% from the previous year, measured in current prices. The increase in output value of crops was 2.2% and the output value of animal husbandry grew by 13.2%. Intermediate consumption increased by 7.8% during the same period, up to ISK 34.6 billion and Gross value added by 15.3% up to ISK 17.1 billion.

Statistics Iceland now publishes for the first time Economic accounts for agriculture (EAA) according to international standards. The accounts give an overview of the income, intermediate consumption and operating results of the agricultural ‘industry’ as a whole during the period 2007-2011.
