| This publication is among the most ambitious works ever published by Statistics Iceland. It contains statistics on Icelandic society and its development as far back in the country's history as sources permit. The oldest statistics in this work date from the beginning of the 17th century and a good deal of the material has never appeared before or has not been available to the public. The work includes statistics on the population, employment, foreign trade, wages, consumption, prices, financial activities, national accounts, social welfare and health, education, culture, etc. Hagskinna is also available on a CD-ROM for PC´s. On it you will find all the material from the book, plus some additional data, especially on population, agriculture, fisheries and external trade. All the necessary software to view the material is provided on the CD-ROM. |
