Total catch of Icelandic vessels in May 2013 was 89,674 tonnes compared to 65,488 tonnes in May 2012. Demersal species accounted for 45 thousand tonnes, thereof cod 19 thousand tonnes, haddock nearly 3,400 tonnes, redfish 4,700 tonnes and saithe 5,600 tonnes. The total value of sold production in 2012 amounted to 750 billion ISK, which is an increase of 30.4 billion ISK, or 4.2%, from previous year. At the same time the Producer Price Index increased by 1.1% which means that the total value of sold production increased by 3.1% in real terms.More
