The fishing fleet at the end of 2009
At the end of the year 2009 the total number of fishing vessels, registered at the Icelandic Maritime Administration, was 1,582. The number increased by 53 vessels from the previous year. The number of decked vessels was 768 and their combined size was 86,769 gross tonnages (GT). The number of decked vessels had decreased by 1 item but their total size increased by 379 GT.
