On 1 January 2013 the population of Iceland was 321,857, compared with 319,575 1 January 2012. The population growth was 0.7% or 2,282 persons. This is due to negative net migration in 2012 which outweighed the natural population growth (births less deaths). The population has grown in the past ten years by an annual average growth rate of 1.1%. |
