Trade in goods in 2012 In 2012, goods were exported from Iceland for 633,029 million ISK fob and imported for 555,695 million ISK fob, 597,262 million ISK cif. Thus there was a trade surplus (fob) for the trade in goods of 77,334 million ISK, compared with 97,142 million ISK surplus in 2011. Exports of goods increased by 2.1% at current prices while imports of goods increased by 6.3%. Manufacturing products were 52.3% of the total exports, decreasing in value by 1.3%, at current prices. Marine products were 42.4% of all exports, increasing in value by 6.8% from the year before, at current prices.

2,400 million deficit of the balance of trade in goods, January-June 2014

The value of exported goods from Iceland amounted to ISK 265,400 million fob and the value of imported goods amounted to ISK 267,800 million fob in the first six months of 2014. Thus there was a trade deficit, calculated on fob value, of ISK 2,400 million as compared with a trade surplus of ISK 25,100 million in the first six months of 2013, at current rates of exchange.More
