There were 240 new registrations of private limited companies in September 2016. New registrations increased by 19% over the last 12 months, from October 2015 to September 2016, compared to the prior 12 months. There were 2,689 new registrations during the period, compared with 2,255 in the previous 12 months. The greatest proportional increase in new registrations was in Transportation and storage, from 39 to 65, or a 67% increase from the previous 12 months. Also of note is an increase from 169 to 249 in Administrative and support service activities (47%), an increase from 318 to 413 in Real estate activities (30%), and an increase from 272 to 353 in Construction (30%). There was a decrease of 4% in new registrations during the period in Professional, scientific and technical activities (from 283 to 272).
There were 60 corporate insolvencies registered in September 2016. Corporate insolvencies increased by 22% over the last 12 months, from October 2015 to September 2016, compared to the prior 12 months. There were 880 corporate insolvencies during the period, compared with 722 in the previous 12 months. The greatest proportional increase in insolvencies during the period was from 45 to 71 in Financial and insurance activities (58%). Additionally, there was over 50% increase of insolvencies during the period in Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, from 123 to 190 (54%); and in Information and communication, from 37 to 56 (51%). The greatest proportional decrease of insolvencies was from 91 to 77 in Real estate activities (15%), and from 60 to 52 in Accommodation and food service activities (13%).
