NEWS RELEASE FISHERIES 15 JULY 2016

The total catch of Icelandic vessels was roughly 42 thousand tonnes in June 2016 which is 43% less than in June last year. Pelagic catch decreased by 93% while demersal catch was the same. The total catch in a 12 month period from July 2015 to June 2016 decreased by 262 thousand tonnes when compared to the same period twelve months earlier. The value index for June has decreased by 7.1% when compared to June 2015.
