The CPI compiled in May 2006 is 258.9 points (May 1988=100), 1.45% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 239.6 points, 1.48% higher than in April.

Prices for transport rose by 5.2% (effect on the CPI 0.89%). Thereof prices of petrol and diesel oil rose by 6.5% (effect on the CPI 0.44%) and prices of new cars rose by 5.3% (0.32%).  Prices of recreational goods and equipment rose by 3.2% (0.16%).

Owner occupied housing cost rose by 1.8% (0.31%), thereof the effect of higher market prices of housing was 0.25% and of higher real interest rates 0.06%. 

Prices of milk and milk products fell by 5.5% (-0.13%).

The CPI in May 2006 is 7.6% higher than in May 2005 while the CPI less housing cost is 5.4% higher than one year ago. The CPI rose by 3.8% over the last three months equivalent to an annual inflation rate of 15.9% (CPI less housing cost also 15.9%).
      
The credit terms index in June 2006 is 258.9 points. The old credit terms index is 5,112 points in June 2006.
