Social indicators: Material deprivation 2004-2013 The rate of material deprivation stood at 6.4% for people living in Iceland in 2013. The proportion of people deprived of material goods fell sharply between 2007 and 2008, at the height of the economic bubble, from 7.4% to 2.5% but rose again though it never exceeded the deprivation levels of 2004-2007. Iceland had the 6th lowest rate of material deprivation in 2012.

Unemployment was 4.6% in June

According to the Icelandic Labour Force Survey the number of persons in the labour force in June 2014 was 195,400. Of those in the labour force 186,300 persons were employed and 9,000 persons were unemployed. More
