Labour market statistics, 2nd quarter 2010
The number of persons in the labour force in the second quarter of 2010 was 185,700 which corresponds to an activity rate of 83.3%. The number of employed persons was 169,500 and unemployed persons were 16,200. The unemployment rate was 8.7%. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 500 from the second quarter of 2009 and the number of employed persons increased by 2,000. The unemployment rate in the capital region is 9.8% and 6.8% in other regions. The average number of working hours of those who were working in the reference week was 40.2 hours.

The wage index in July 2010 is 379.5 points, 0.3% higher than in the previous month. In the last twelve months the monthly wage index has risen by 6.0%.
