Catch, value and processing of catch 2013 The total catch of Icelandic fishing vessels in 2013 was 1363 thousand tonnes which is 86 thousand tonnes less than in 2012. The value of the catch amounted to 153 billion ISK and decreased by 4.3% from previous year, 2.2% increase at constant prices. The largest part of the catch was processed in the eastern part of the country, mainly pelagic fish. Total value of by-products amounted to 5 billion in 2013.

Total value of catch decreased by 13.1%

In July 2014 the value of the total catch was 13.1% lower than in July 2013. The value of catch was lower for all species except cod, shrimp and uncategorised shellfish. Pelagic catch decreased by 16.2% and flatfish catch by 54.1%.More
