Catch, value and processing of catch 2013 The total catch of Icelandic fishing vessels in 2013 was 1363 thousand tonnes which is 86 thousand tonnes less than in 2012. The value of the catch amounted to 153 billion ISK and decreased by 4.3% from previous year, 2.2% increase at constant prices. The largest part of the catch was processed in the eastern part of the country, mainly pelagic fish. Total value of by-products amounted to 5 billion in 2013.

Value of catch in October 2014 decreased by 5.5%

The value of catch in October 2014 was 5.5% lower than in the same month 2013. For the 12 month period from November 2013 to October 2014 the total catch value has decreased by 12% compared to the same period one year earlier. The catch value of most species has decreased during this period, but the value of cod has increased by 12.2%.More
