Labour market statistics, 3rd quarter 2016
The number of persons in the labour force in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was 199,500 corresponding to an activity rate of 84.5%. The number of employed persons was 194,300 while unemployed persons were 5,200. The employment rate was 82.3% and the unemployment rate was 2.6%. From the 3rd quarter of 2015 the number of employed persons has increased by 8,400 and the employment rate increased by 1.8 percentage points. At the same time the number of unemployed persons decreased by 1,500 and the unemployment rate fell by 0.9 points. The unemployment rate among females was 2.9% and 2.3% among males.
