Turnover according to VAT reports in Icelandic tourism sectors was 91,6 billion ISK in September to October, an increase of 190% compared with the same period 2020.
An average of 44.7 people died each week in 2021, or slightly more than in 2017-2020, when 43.4 died on average.
The total fish catch of Icelandic vessels in 2021 was just over 1,158 thousand tonnes, which is 13% more than in 2020. Pelagic catch was 655 thousand tonnes, 24% more than in 2020 since no capelin was landed in that year.
New registrations of private limited companies in 2021 were 3,220. This is a 30% increase from 2020 when they were 2,486. New registrations increased by 106% in Financial and insurance activities, from 220 to 454, while there was a 35% increase in Construction, from 382 to 516. Figures have been updated.
