In July 2019, value of exported goods in BOP* was estimated 52,200 million ISK and value of imported goods was estimated 71,100 million.
During the 12-month period from September 2018 to August 2019, the average total number of employers in Iceland was 18,505 and the average number of employees was 194,400. This is an increase of 265 (1.5%) employers and 1,400 (0.7%) employees compared with the period from September 2017 to August 2018.
There was an increase in net worth for all family types from 2017 to 2018. Net worth for individuals increased by 15.6%, married couples without children by 13.8%, married couples with children by 19% and single parents by 25.3%.
Approximately 4,500 jobs were estimated to be vacant on the Icelandic labour market in the third quarter of 2019, according to the results of Statistics Iceland’s Job Vacancy Survey. In the same quarter, a total of 237,000 jobs were estimated to be manned. The job vacancy rate was therefore approximately 1.9%.
