Statistics Iceland is currently preparing two fundamental improvements in the BCI methodology, which will be introduced in the monthly compilation of the index in January 2022.
The unemployment rate in August 2021 was 5.1% according to seasonally adjusted figures from the Icelandic Labour Force Survey. Seasonally adjusted activity rate was 79.5% and seasonally adjusted employment rate 75.0%.
Total financial assets of Iceland’s domestic sector stood at 31,607 billion ISK in year-end 2020 according to preliminary data or 1,075% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The monthly wage index increased by 0.3% in August 2021 from the previous month. In the last 12 months the monthly wage index has risen by 7.9%.
