There were 30 corporate insolvencies registered in April 2022, thereof five for companies that were active in 2021. There was one insolvency in construction, one in wholesale and retail trade and three insolvencies in other industries. Figures have been updated.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in April 2022 was 2.5% according to results from the Icelandic Labour Force Survey. In comparison, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.6% in April 2021, and had decreased by 6.1 percentage points between years.
The exported value of services in the first quarter of 2022 is estimated at 112.9 billion ISK while the imported value of services is estimated at 118.3 billion ISK. Therefore, the deficit in the balance of trade in services is estimated at 5.4 billion ISK compared with a deficit of 8.3 billion ISK for the same period the year before.
The building cost index in May 2022 increases by 0.7% from the previous month. The price of domestic materials increased by 1.3% and labour costs increased by 0.8%. Figures have been updated.
