New registrations of private limited companies increased by 15% over the last 12 months, from March 2015 to February 2016, compared to the prior 12 months. There were 2,430 new registrations during the period, compared with 2,105 in the previous 12 months. The greatest increase of new registrations was in Real estate activities, from 222 to 383, or a 73% increase from the previous 12 months. Also of note is an increase in registrations from 236 to 299 in Construction (27%), and an increase from 153 to 185 in Administrative and support service activities (21%). Proportionately, the greatest decrease in new registrations during the period was 8% in Information and communication (from 190 to 174).

Corporate insolvencies decreased by 20% over the last 12 months, from March 2015 to February 2016, compared to the prior 12 months. There were 629 corporate insolvencies during the period, compared with 784 in the previous 12 months. The greatest proportional decrease of insolvencies was in Accommodation and food service activities, from 67 to 43 (36%). Also of mention is a decrease in insolvencies from 75 to 50 in Professional, scientific and technical activities (33%), and from 24 to 17 in Transportation and storage (29%). There was a decrease in insolvencies during the period for all major sections of economic activity except for Information and communication, where the number of insolvencies was unchanged between periods (34 insolvencies).
