Transport of cargo through harbours in Iceland was 7.5 million tonnes in 2024, an increase of 3% compared with 2023. The busiest ports were Reykjavík, Grundartangi, Reyðarfjörður and Straumsvík. Þorlákshöfn was in fifth place where import tonnage increased by 57%. Import of fuel oils in Reykjanes harbour decreased by 16% in 2024 compared with the previous year.
