The total value of exports of services in January 2022 is estimated at 34.2 billion ISK and to have increased by 77% from January 2021, at current rates of exchange. The total exported value of travel in January is estimated at 9.9 billion ISK and to have increased considerably compared with the same month last year. Exported value of transport services is estimated at 9.6 billion ISK in January, having increased by 56% compared with January 2021. The value of exports of other services was estimated at 14.7 billion ISK in January, increasing by 29% compared with January the year before.

The total value of imports of services in January is estimated to have been at 35.6 billion ISK and increased by 69% from January 2021, at current rates of exchange. The total imported value of travel in January is estimated at 9.7 billion ISK an to have increased considerable compared with the same month the year before. Imported value of transport services in January is estimated at 7.2 billion ISK, having increased by 81% compared with January 2021 while the value of imports of other services is estimated to have been at 18.7 billion ISK in January, increasing by 38% compared with January the year before.

For the period February 2021 to January 2022, the total value of exports of services is estimated at 483.7 billion ISK and to have increased by 35% compared with the 12 months prior at current rates of exchange. The value for imports of services for the same period is estimated at 388.4 billion ISK, having increased by 31% compared with the same period the year before.

The value of exported goods in BOP* is estimated at 76.6 billion ISK in January 2022 and the value of imported goods is estimated at 76.4 billion ISK. Therefore, a surplus in balance of trade in goods in BOP is estimated at 0.3 billion ISK. Total export of trade in goods and services is estimated to have been 110.9 billion ISK in January 2022, having increased by 61% compared with the same month the previous year. Moreover, total import of trade in goods and services is estimated at 112 billion ISK in the same period, increasing by 57% compared with the same month the previous year.

The value of exports of trade in goods and services is estimated 1,274.5 billion ISK in the latest 12-month period and to have increased by 29% compared with the previous 12 months. For the same period, estimated import of trade in goods and services was 1,341.9 billion ISK and increased by 32% compared with the previous 12 months. Therefore, the deficit in balance of trade in goods and services is estimated at 67.4 billion ISK in the latest 12-month period compared with a deficit of 27.9 billion ISK for the previous 12 months.
