The total fish catch in November 2025 amounted to nearly 103 thousand tonnes, an increase of 9% compared with November last year. Demersal catch rose by 10% year-on-year and pelagic catch by 9%, while flatfish catch decreased by 9%. During the twelve-month period from December 2024 to November 2025, total catch reached 1,040 thousand tonnes, representing a 6% increase compared with the same period a year earlier.
The value of the catch for the last fishing year (September 2024 to August 2025) was 194 billion ISK, which is 14% more than in the previous fishing year, 2023–2024. The value of demersal catch during this period was nearly 147 billion ISK, up 18% from the previous period, while the value of pelagic catch was slightly over 35 billion ISK, a 4% increase from the preceding fishing year.
