Catch by foreign vessels sold in Iceland in 2024 amounted to 133 thousand tonnes, which is a 9% increase from the previous year. About 90% was pelagic catch, 8% was frozen shrimp for export in containers and 1% was demersal fish for domestic processing.
The first sale value of foreign landings in 2024 was 9.4 billion ISK, 61% for pelagic fish, 29% for shrimp and 9% for demersal fish.
