NEWS RELEASE FISHERIES 09 JUNE 2021

In the first three monts of 2021 the catch of Icelandic vessels was 239.2 thousand tonnes, 32% more than during same period in 2020. The value of first sale in the first quarter of 2021 was 43.2 billion ISK which is 26% more than in first quarter of 2020. The value of capelin was 8 billion ISK, an increase by 100% since no capelin was caught in the year 2020. The value of demersal catch increased by 2% and was 32 billion ISK.
