In the first three months of 2022, the catch of Icelandic vessels was 564 thousand tonnes according to preliminary statistics, 136% more than during the same period in 2021.
The value of first sale in the first quarter of 2022 was 55.8 billion ISK which is 28% more than in first quarter of the previous year.
The value of capelin was 19 billion ISK and the value of demersal catch was 34 billion ISK, increasing by 5%.
