In the first three months of 2023 the catch of Icelandic vessels was 520 thousand tonnes according to preliminary statistics, 8% less than during the same period in 2022. The value of first sale in the first quarter of 2023 was 56 billion ISK which is the same as in first quarter of the previous year. The value of demersal catch was 36 billion ISK, increasing by 4% and the value of pelagic catch was 16.5 billion ISK, decreasing by 15% from previous year.
