Landed catch in the period 1 January to 30 June 2022 was 852 thousand tonnes which is 67% more than during same period in 2021. Of demersal fish the catch was 11% less and for pelagic fish the catch was 163% more than during the first half of 2021.
The value of catch at first sale was just over 100 billion ISK in the first half of 2022 which is 27% more than for the same period in 2021 when the catch value was 79 billion ISK. Demerdal catch in 2022 yielded 70 billion ISK, while the velue of pelagic catch was 25 billion ISK and the value of flatfish was 5 billion ISK.
