The value of catch at first sale was just over 100 billion ISK in the first half of 2023 which is 1% less than for the same period in 2022. Demersal catch in 2023 yielded 67 billion ISK, while the value of pelagic catch was 27 billion ISK and the value of flatfish about 6 billion ISK.
Landed catch in the period 1 January to 30 June 2023 was 773 thousand tonnes which is 10% less than during the same period in 2022. Of demersal fish the catch was 13% less and for pelagic fish the catch was 9% less than during the first half of 2022.
