The CPI based on prices in February is 367.7 points (May 1988=100), 1.18% higher than in the previous month. The CPI less housing cost is 350.1 points, 1.16% higher than in January.
Winter sales are reaching their end causing a 5.5% increase in prices of clothing and footwear (effect on the index 0.33%) and a 2.5% rise in furniture and household equipment prices (0.16%). Cost of owner occupied housing increased by 1.7% (0.20%). Prices of food and beverages rose by 0.8% (0.13%) and international airfares increased by 15.1% (0.12%). Prices of petrol and diesel oil rose by 1.8% (0.10%).
The CPI in February 2011 is 1.9% higher than in February 2010 while the CPI less housing cost is 2.2% higher than one year ago. Over the last three months, the CPI has increased by 0.6%, equivalent to an annual inflation rate of 2.4% (also 2.4% inflation for the CPI less housing cost).
The CPI compiled in the middle of February 2011, 367.7 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in April 2011. The old credit terms index for April 2011 is 7,260 points.
