In light of discussions regarding the potential impact of an airline's bankruptcy on prices at other airlines, it should be noted that airfares in the consumer price index are measured 2, 4 and 8 weeks in advance and the prices are used for calculations in the month in which the trip takes place. This means that the airfares used for the October calculations were measured in August, September, and October, so only a portion of the price collection took place after the news of Play‘s bankruptcy became public.
The CPI is 4.3% higher in October 2025 than in October 2024 and the CPI less housing cost is 3.3% higher than one year ago.
The CPI compiled in the middle of October 2025, 661.4 points, is applicable for indexation purposes in December 2025.
