The yearly average operational cost per student in primary schools in 2018 was ISK 1.931,094 and the increase in the weighted average price level from 2018 until October 2019 is estimated at 3,8%.
The estimated yearly operational cost per student in primary schools, run by local government is thus ISK 2,000,768 in October 2019.
Statistics Iceland calculates the yearly average operational cost per student in all primary schools that are run by local governments, according to Article 8 Regulation no 1150/2018, on the accreditation of primary schools and the minimum contribution from local governments to such schools.
