In June 2015, overnight stays in hotels were 285,100 which is an increase of 19% compared with June 2014.

Nights spent by foreign tourists accounted for 90% of the total number of overnight stays in June and increased by 20% compared with June 2014. Overnight stays of Icelanders increased by 10% compared to June 2014

In the Capital region, the number of overnight stays was 162,800, which is a 16% increase compared with June 2014. Overnight stays in the South region were 47,600 in June 2015. Overseas residents with most overnight stays in Iceland in June were residents from the Germany (56,500), USA (54,600), and the UK (26,900).

In the last twelve months, from July 2014 until June 2015, overnight stays in hotels were 2,508,841 which is an increase of around 15% compared with the same period in the previous year.

Occupancy rate for bedrooms in hotels in June 2015 was 84.1%
In June the occupancy rate for bedrooms was highest in the Southwest, around 90% and in the Capital region, around 86%.
