Registered students at the upper secondary and tertiary level in autumn 2008

Every autumn Statistics Iceland collects data on registered students from schools at the upper secondary and tertiary level. These data include the number of students, sex, line of study, progress of study and mode of teaching. The number of students has been increasing every year and in autumn 2008 there were 47,282 students registered, more than ever before. The number of registered students has increased by 2.6% since 2007 which is a little less than in the previous year. The number of students has increased both at the upper secondary and tertiary level.
