The Icelandic Census 1703 (Manntalið 1703 þrjú hundruð ára) is a joint publication of Statistics Iceland and the National Archives of Iceland. The book is the result of a seminar organized by those two institutions in 2003 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Icelandic census of 1703. Editors are Ólöf Garðarsdóttir, ph.D. in historical demography and Eiríkur G. Guðmundsson BA in history. The book contains two articles in English and four in Icelandic with an abstract in English. Among the authors is the well known statistician John Hajnal who in his article The Icelandic Census 1703 in perspective discusses household sizes and household compositions in different demographic regimes.
