The number of persons in the labour force in the 4th quarter of 2012 was 176,800 which corresponds to an activity rate of 78.8%. The number of employed persons was 168,400 and unemployed persons were 8,400. The employment rate was 75% and the unemployment rate was 4.7%. The number of employed persons increased by 3,000 and the number of unemployed persons decreased by 2,200 from the 4th quarter of 2011. The unemployment rate among males was 5.4% and 4% among females.
