The CPI in October 2008 rose by 2.16% from the preceding month (3.02% less housing cost). Over the last 12 months the CPI rose by 15.9% (CPI less housing cost rose by 17.8%) while the change over the last 3 months is equi-valent to an annual inflation of 16.8% (22.7% inflation less housing cost). In Iceland, the HICP rose by 1.2% in September and by 0.4% in the EEA.
