The Icelandic per capita volume index at level of Gross Domestic Product is among the highest in the exercise, 29% over the EU25 average. At the prevailing exchange rate of the Icelandic currency in 2005 the relative price level was the highest in Europe, 44% over the average for the GDP as whole and 69% over for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
