Income in Iceland was more evenly distributed than it has been since it was first measured in the year 2004. The highest income quintile received 3.1 times higher income than the lowest income quintile in 2014 and the Gini coefficient was 22.7. The share of people at risk of poverty has never been lower from the beginning of the survey. It was 7.9% which is equal to what it was in 2012. In 2014 11,1% were at risk of poverty or social exclusion which is the lowest it has been since the beginning of the survey.
